Human Research News v6, n7: IRB/OPRS Policies & Guidance

Good morning and welcome to UCLA Human Research News.

The Office for Protection of Research Subjects has added a page to its website to provide the research community with access to policy and procedure documents. The page also gathers OPRS/IRB guidance documents and links to other relevant policy websites. As policies and guidance documents are created or updated, they will be posted to this new page. A subject index will also be added in the near future to help you navigate the policies more effectively.

You may access this new page directly at http://oprs.ucla.edu/human/policies-guidance or by clicking on the "Policies & Guidance" link in the left margin of any page in the human research section of the website.

UCLA is in the process of seeking accreditation by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs. The policies and procedures currently posted are in effect, but may undergo revision as UCLA progresses through the accreditation process. Certain items that are undergoing review by counsel are not available at this time.

As always, OPRS staff are available to answer questions about the application of policy to your research projects. For general policy questions, to suggest areas of future guidance or to provide comments about the website, please contact OPRS Assistant Director Kip Kantelo at kkantelo@oprs.ucla.edu.
