Vice Chancellor for Research Roberto Peccei has issued the attached memorandum outlining changes to state law effective January 1, 2007. State law and campus policy no longer require IRB review of all human embryonic stem cell (hESC) research. Please note that some categories of hESC research must still be reviewed and approved by the IRB. Please also note that all hESC research must still be reviewed and overseen by the UCLA Embryonic Stem Cell Research Oversight (ESCRO) committee.
